Friday we had to wake up very early, and we left Salzburg at 7: 45. We met with the Munich group, and then left for Dachau. We visited the Memorial Concentration Camp. Something impressive, impossible to describe.
That was our last stop. After that, we went strict back to school, and arrived there at seven p.m.
I enjoyed this academic travel a lot, and it was probably the best one I did in these two years.

Hohensalzburg Castle & concert.
The last night, we went visiting the Hohensalzburg Castle, but the tour was very short, and not that interesting, if I have to be honest. However, we still had fun all together. After visiting the Castle, we went to the restaurant inside it, and, after a very good dinner, we went to the concert we were supposed to assist to inside the Castle. I thought it would be a piano concert, but it was a violin concert, and I was a little bit disappointed. Still, it was a good way to end the trip.
Chinese restaurant....that was TOO MUCH!
Before going to the Hohensalzburg Castle, we had lunch and some free time. The teachers offered us some salsiccias, salads, or sandwiches, but I went with some other friends to a Chinese restaurant, and I think I have never eaten a larger amount of food: everything was delicious!!!
The Saltmines!
After breakfast, we got ready for the Saltimines, that would be probably the funniest thinf of the whole trip. Salzburg's economy is based on these mines, and at the end of the tour we all got some salt to bring home. We couldn't take pictures during the tour, since they told us that if we had brought our cameras, they might get ruined. However, inside the mines, there were a lot of slides, and some automatic cameras took pictures of us doing them.
Probably the thing I enjoyed the most.
Probably the thing I enjoyed the most.
Dinner at Japanese and Thai restaurant.
Usually, I pay attention to what I eat: I don't eat fried food, or big amounts of carbos....but that night, I think I have eaten so much sushi that a normal person would eat in about a week. The teachers were shocked (and my friends too!) when they saw what I had taken. Once done, still hungry, I took other shusi: it was delicious. The place was very nice and warm, and we spent a good night. My friends, instead of taking the sushi, they took noodles, rice, pasta.....and they all regretted that. I went to bed happy, with a very satisfied stomach!
The bike tour: THAT WAS TOO MUCH FOR MY LEGS.
After some free time, we went back to the hotel and got ready for the "Sound of Music Bike Tour". Basically, it was a tour all around Salzburg, and it lasted for 3 hours and a half. At the end, I couldn't even move one muscle, I was way too tired. It was a great choice from the school, because we all enjoyed riding the bikes, and the place we went visiting were all very interesting. We ended up in a enormous park, where we could rest for a little while. Then, we went back to the hotel, but this time the group splitted into two groups: the one that had people who weren't tired and could still go fast, and the one with people who WERE tired, and had to go a little bit slower. I definetely was part of the second group.
Lunch and free time-
After visiting Mozart's birthplace we had lunch and some free time. The school payed us the lunch, and so we all went to this bar and took some sandwiches and toasts. Some guys, though, went eating in another palce. After lunch, we went visiting the town by ourselves, and took a lot of pictures. It was very fun, but we all were scared that we might get lost. However, it didn't happen.
First day in Salzburg: Mozart's birthplace.
Since we had arrived very late the night before, the teachers let us wake up a little bit later. After breakfast (delicious, typical from Austria), we very ready to go visit Mozart's birthplace. We walked towards the old town, and it was very interesting to observ Salzburg's life: the greatest thing were the bretzels, a typical austrian bread. Since we arrived to Mozart's Birthplace fifteen minutes before the actually meeting with the guide, the teachers let us go around for a little while, and that was our first free time. We all took a lot of pictures. Then, we started the tour, which was very interesting, and at the end we assisted to a private piano concert in the house. Visiting the house of a genius was an intense experience, and I am glad I have had the opportunity to do that.
The first stop: Neuschwanstein Castle.
The first castle we visited was very nice, and we had to do a twenty minutes walk in order to get there. There was snow everywhere, but at the end of the little walk we had hot chocolate that was waiting for us. The castle tour was interesting, decorated in a gothic style, and looked like the one of "The Beauty and the Beast". Once the tour was finished, we went back to the bus. Next stop: DINNER! Unfortunetely, the bus driver got lost, and instead of arriving at the restaurant at 18:00, we arrived there at 20:00. However, the dinner was very good, and we all needed it, after a 9 hours bus trip. From the restaurant to Munich we still had 1 hour, and from Munich to Salzburg, 2 hour and a half. Our beds were still far away....
In the bus....a long trip!!
The bus ride from Tasis to Salzburg was probably the longest one I ever did: 12 hours in total. After two hours from school, the bus broke, and we had to wait an hour before the new bus arrived. We were in the middle of nothing, with snow all around us. Fortunately, we all knew how to enjoy ourselves, laughing, listening to music and, sometimes, sleeping! When the new bus arrived, we all moved to that one, had lunch, and then waited three more hours before arriving to the first castle we were supposed to visit. Most of the girls wanted to sleep, but the boys didn't let me, and maybe, if one of the girls was finally asleep, they put the headphones in her head, so that she would wake up immediately. I personally tried to sleep several times, but there was no way. The room was very reduct, and most of the seats were full of garbage or jackets. However, I can still say it that the bus trip was nice and amusing.
